My name is Larry Chown, and this is the website for my Oshawa based music project. For 30 years I have been instructing people of all ages in guitar and music theory and assisting them in choosing and maintaining their instruments. To this day I continue to offer music lessons that are a cut above the rest...

Take private lessons or join one of my popular small group workshops whether you want to rekindle your interest in the guitar, further or develop new skills or just plain have fun making music together. Along with an opportunity to learn I try to help students develop the passion and enthusiasm that inspires us all to “reach for the stars” and enjoy new levels of personal success. It is my desire to make your music lessons an exciting, enjoyable and rewarding experience as well.

From simple re-stringing and tuning of guitars and other stringed instruments to fretwork and electronics repairs, Guitar Technician is another hat I wear proudly at Strings & Fingers GUITARISTS’ WORKSHOP. With over 30 years experience working on guitars, I am available for professional guitar set-ups and repairs six days a week. See “Repairs” for more information.

As a professional musician I have performed live music in a variety of settings, as a solo guitarist, in a duo setting with another guitarist, flutist, or violinist and in larger ensembles from jazz trios to full 18-piece big bands and I have a repertoire that covers everything from the classics to jazz. Occasions include wedding ceremonies, receptions, dinner parties, fashion shows, product launches, art showings, funerals, concerts and charity events. Although the business name is new, Strings & Fingers GUITARISTS’ WORKSHOP has well over 30 years experience playing, teaching and repairing instruments already under its belt. My personal goal is to meet your needs and exceed your expectations with the variety of services I offer and make Strings & Fingers GUITARISTS’ WORKSHOP your 1st choice for Lessons, Workshops and Repairs.
